Virginia Outdoors Boudoir Session in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

“Feeling the wind on my naked body, that is what I hope to never forget. I love the way it felt to be naked in the woods. That is what made me feel beautiful and strong.”

What was your biggest fear before the session? Did your fear come true, and if not, what happened instead?

My greatest fear before the session was that I would hate the way my body looked through the lens of the camera. I have rarely liked any of the photos that have been taken of me in my life. What happened during the session was a good piece of awareness for me. I leaned into the moment. I focused on the way the trees swayed and the rush of the water. I let myself into my body through the feel of the stone and wood underneath it. It allowed me to let go of the fear in the moment. I believe that led to better photos that reminded me of my experience rather than photos that reminded me of my anxiety about my body image.

What was your favorite part of your outdoor boudoir experience and why?

Jen was the best part of the experience, well, and the gorgeous location. Jen seemed to instinctively understand how to meet my vulnerability with her own. She shared personal stories with me as we walked down the trail that made me feel connected to her. By the time we'd made it to the session site, I was comfortable trusting her about what poses would be best to capture my body and spirit.

Would you do it again?

Without question, I would do this again.

What do you want to take with you from this experience and never forget?

Being in the moment, feeling the wind on my naked body, that is what I hope to never forget. I love the way it felt to me naked in the woods. That is what made me feel beautiful and strong.
