Stefanie's Black & White Boudoir Session | Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Before & AfterSome of our clients manage to make their way into our heart, where they will always have a place.  Stefanie has touched us in a way that will will never forget.  I'll let her tell the story:

Dear Jen and Max,

I can’t thank you enough for my amazing experience with you guys through Breathless Boudoir.  I had only learned about the concept of boudoir photography a few months ago, and to be honest the whole idea was foreign to me.  I had dance recital and senior portraits taken of me, but those were years ago; I’d never thought to put myself “out there” in such a detailed fashion.

When you grow up associated with being “too gangly-legged” to take hip-hop class and “too skinny” to be anything but anorexic, you develop a less than stellar self-image.  And shopping?  Forget about it!  Nothing fits quite right – how’re you supposed to feel confident when clothes hang all over you?  I know, I know *skinny girl problems* right?   Yoga has helped me to appreciate, rather than be envious, of gorgeous bodies, but it’s still a huge blow to the ego when you try on the latest pieces and leave without buying anything because you feel just plain ridiculous.

My role model is Audrey Hepburn and she made skinny not only beautiful, but downright sexy.  These days, you don’t see anyone with less than a D cup in any of the Victoria’s Secret magazines.  You’d be hard pressed to find a “sexy” model with hips so bony that they could take out a granite counter top!

That being said, I was a bit terrified of putting myself out there in all my “skinny glory”.  But I had to do something for my 25th birthday to boost my confidence.  You guys were so open and easy to talk to that by the time my hair and make-up were done, I wasn’t worried about my inability to be photogenic – heck, I was ready for my close up!  You made me feel confident that you’d find the angles that were uniquely flattering for my body.  From assuming the position yourselves, to asking me to make the most obnoxious laugh ever just to capture the natural laugh that was sure to follow, you guided me to be seductive, and dare I say it, beautiful.

The shoot itself was unbelievably fun, but I was absolutely blown away when we sat down to view what you had captured.  I didn’t see an uber-self-conscious skinny girl, I suddenly saw the confident 25 year old that I want to be.  So what if I don’t look like a Victoria’s Secret modelthey don’t look like me!  I couldn’t believe how amazing you made me look… It just goes to show you why Audrey insisted on always having Bob Willoughby as her photographer - no matter how insecure you are, when you’re in the hands of talented photographers such as yourselves, the results are nothing short of awe-inspiring.

I can’t wait to have my pictures - the confidence this shoot gave me is beyond priceless.  This was only going to be a “happy birthday to me”, but after this experience, I want to do a session every year just to have fun!  You guys are truly AWESOME and I can’t wait to work with you again! With SO much gratitude,

Stefanie

Whew.... every time I read that it makes me tear up.  And I've already read it 4 or 5 times.  Her testimonial is a great reminder to Max and I about why we do what we do, and what we started out with boudoir photography to do. Allowing a woman to see herself without seeing what she perceives as flaws first is the greatest gift we can give.  What we do is so incredibly fulfilling to us that we owe Stefanie just as much thanks as she has given us, if not more.  Our clients make our lives wonderful, and for that we are eternally grateful!

I shall stall no longer, Stefanie's photos must be seen!  For her album, she did something we haven't done before... all black & white!  I just love how it came out!  It's classic and timeless, just like the look she was going for.
