Our "rut" and a SMOKING hot Lafayette Boudoir Session!!!

You see, the problem was... well... this is somewhat embarrassing for a boudoir photographer to admit.... ahem.  Well, we were... too timid.  There, I said it.  Ridiculous, right?!  I know, I thought the same thing.  We pride ourselves at making our clients' comfort our top priority.  We never.... ever ever ever... want to make a client feel uncomfortable at any point during a session.  Our clients put a great deal of trust in us and it's a huge honor for us to be chosen as someone's boudoir photographer because it's a sensitive genre of photography.  Somewhere along the lines we became overly cautious and stopped shooting photos that pushed the limits of sexy.  Our work became *gasp* tame!!!  Tame to us, at least.  We like to push boundaries from time to time. We knew some of our clients really wanted to create photos to make their husband's mouth drop open, photos that were seriously hot and steamy.  But we failed to differentiate which clients wanted what... there's so many things we can do with boudoir so we just played it safe.

Moving forward.  We implemented some changes and all of a sudden WHOA!!!  Our work got A LOT steamier!  One of the changes we made was a pre-session questionnaire asking clients a series of questions to get to know them better, and to determine what kind of session they want to do.  Questions asking what degree of undress they are comfortable with helps us know how far to push.  One question in particular has changed everything.  The question is "Is there a certain look you are going for?  For example; more anonymous shots, portraits, detail and closeup body shots, smiling & playful, seductive, tastefully erotic, black & white, etc.  We're going to get a variety, but this helps us to know what you're looking for".  I knew from the very first questionnaire we received that it was a game changer.  It allowed us to know how far to go.  You can never guess what someone wants, women surprise us all the time!  We shoot a variety of styles, not everyone fits in the same box.  Some women want glamorous, some want playful, others want sultry, and some even tastefully erotic.

This brings us to Nicole.  She was the life raft we needed to get us out of our rut.  First off, her session took place in Lafayette, Louisiana.  One of our favorite locations to shoot at!!!  So we were already super excited and inspired.  We love getting out of the studio for a change of scenery.  Nicole let us know that she was looking for some tastefully erotic photos.  Jackpot!  We knew this was our perfect opportunity to see if we could do it.  Max and I pumped ourselves up on the way to the session saying that we would create the images that we wanted to create without worrying about going to far because we knew what Nicole's limits were.  From the moment we met her til the moment she left, it was pure magic. We were able to explore things that we haven't been able to with clients before.

Here are the images to show you exactly what I mean.  I'm warning you though, they're pretty steamy!
