Charlottesville Boudoir Photo Shoot

With each and every Charlottesville boudoir photo shoot I do, my heart grows a little bigger.  I can't get over how everything has been working out with our new move!  I've only been here for three months now and it already feels more like home than I've ever felt.  The mountains nearby, the amazing people, the shoots.  MY SANCTUARY of a house!  Seriously, you guys, I live in total bliss!  I see deer almost every day in my yard!  You guys have no idea how happy that makes me.  I'm a bit of a nature nut, in case you can't tell.  ;)

Meet Kathi - 

This shoot in particular pulled at my heart strings.  I felt a pretty instant connection with Kathi.  She walked in with short, spunky hair with purple bangs... I knew we were going to have a great time!  She's inspirational to me because she's a 45 year old mother of three, and she's still doing her own thing and being true to herself.  This includes doing really awesome things like taking pole dance classes and doing boudoir photo shoots!

Your Biggest Fear... 

I asked Kathi what her biggest fear was before the session, this is what she shared with me:

"I thought I would be nervous when it came time to take the pictures. I was extremely comfortable upon meeting Jen and did not experience any nerves. I felt very at ease from the moment we met. I like to talk and enjoyed chatting as my hair and make up were being done also. I had worried that the make up would be too much, but it looked very natural and is perfect in the pictures.

It's interesting, I had breast tumors removed from both of my breasts when I was a young teenager. Back in those days, the doctors didn't really care about the scars that were left behind. I used to be incredibly self conscious about my breasts and didn't like for anyone to see them. I was especially conscious of the scars when a man would see them for the first time. The scars have lessened with time, but they are still there. Before going for my session, I had worried that they would show up in the pictures and had thought I would mention them. After I left and was driving home, I realized that I had not thought about them once while Jen was taking my pictures! Thirty years of embarrassment melted away in one day.
