For the Wild Ones – Outdoor Boudoir Shoots in Nature
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to see yourself through an artist’s eyes? To embrace and love your body exactly how it is? And to fall in love with what you see. It would feel like Freedom. Liberation. It would feel like coming home to yourself, finally. Maybe for the first time in your life. Society says we’re not beautiful unless we fit a specific mold. That we’re not worthy anymore once we start getting wrinkles and gray hair. We wear those conditions like armor. Do you long to drop your shield to the world and walk naked into nature, in every sense of the word? If your heart is saying yes, then an outdoor boudoir photoshoot is the answer to your longing!
Dancing in a golden field with silk as light as air as the sunlight spills over your beaming face. Or walking through a quiet forest, feeling the peace of being at home in your body, reconnecting with nature. A sense of tranquility and self love like you’ve never felt before washing over you like the sweetness of spring. You let go of years and years of self doubt and criticism in a matter of moments, and you feel like a goddess. Imagine being reminded of that feeling of self love every single day when you look at the beautiful work of art of YOU on your wall that we created together. Imagine being able to go back to that very moment years later and feel the same peace and comfort you felt that day, shedding your layers in nature. Photographs have the power of doing that, transporting you to a reverie of a different time. Reminding you of what’s important in life.
Consider this shoot for your future self on that day that you forget your worth and grace. And you will, because we all do from time to time.
Don’t wait until you “lose that last XX pounds” or “find someone to give the photos to”. NOW is the best time. You already know this. All we have is now, we have no idea what the future brings, or when our time is up. We sit idly by and say, “one day I’ll learn to love myself” until the weeks, months and years pass by and we’ve missed out on so much because we were so concerned with how we look in that swimsuit to go to the beach or pool party. Imagine how freeing it would be to be able to let go of those negative views about yourself, even if just for a day. If there are areas of your body that you’re not ready to be in love with, that’s totally ok. I can help minimize focus on these areas with posing, lighting and wardrobe.
THIS IS YOUR LIFE. RIGHT NOW, THIS VERY SECOND. Don’t waste it on self hate. So many times I’ve heard clients say, “oh I wish I would have done a boudoir session years ago, I was too self conscious. This really could have helped me.”
“But I don’t have anyone to give the photos to…”
The most transformative boudoir sessions I’ve done have been the ones where my client does the shoot for themselves. You don’t need a significant other to do a boudoir photoshoot. If you do happen to have a significant other, it’s just a bonus that they get to enjoy the photos with you! This experience is all about you and your relationship to yourself.
YOU are important. YOU are beautiful. YOU are worthy.
YOU. ARE. READY.
Where will your journey happen?
Your shoot is only limited by our imaginations. What place in nature resonates most with your heart? Where do you come alive? I would love to explore some ideas with you! Virginia is home to the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains and countless winding rivers, waterfalls, and epic viewpoints on the tops of mountains. The options are literally endless! If you have no idea where you would like for your outdoor boudoir photoshoot to happen, I’ll help you out. I have a ton of great locations to choose from. We’ll work together to find the perfect fit you you.
The WORLD is your oyster!
These shoots aren’t limited to the great outdoors of Virginia. If you envision being engulfed in a sea of green moss that covers every inch of the Earth surrounding you, let’s go to the Pacific Northwest! If big open skies with rolling sand dunes is more your speed, let’s head to the sand dunes out west! Your shoot is only limited by our imaginations. We can go anywhere in the world. The following photos were taken in Florida, Kauai, Italy & Bali.
Where will your rewilding take you? Let’s chat and come up with something unforgettable!
What to Wear for your Rewilding Session
This is entirely up to you. The last thing I want to do is to fit you in a box that goes against who you are. If what I say here doesn’t resonate with you, then carve your own path and let’s create your shoot together. What would your ideal outdoor boudoir shoot look like? Do you envision yourself prancing barefoot through the forest in a white lace gown and a flower crown? Or elegantly draped across a log with a blood red dress swirling around your feet? Check out my Pinterest board to see what calls to you, or better yet, make your own and send me the link!
When choosing your outfit, think about the fabric and how it will move. If it’s too stiff it won’t move with your movements and body. Flowy fabric that hangs nicely photographs well. Chiffon and silk are ideal. The weight of jersey fabric can work well too, depending on the garment. If you’re not sure how something will look, please don’t hesitate to message me!
Check out this Pinterest board for inspiration.
Light, Natural Colors
I love the way white, ivory, and natural colors look in nature for a softer, sweeter look. Loose, flowy dresses with lots of fabric would be ideal for this look. Other options would be sheer lace robes, crochet cover-ups, and fabric. Flower crowns go well with this look as well!
Bold & Dramatic
Bold colors that pop against the natural setting can give your photos a dramatic look. Stick to colors that are commonly found in nature such as black & deep red. Brighter colors, such as bright pink, bright blue or neon green can look out of place in nature. Bold patterns can as well. But hey, if you’re looking for something that has that kind of look then go for it! This is YOUR shoot and it should be truly, authentically you.
You can’t go wrong with fine art nudes in nature. You won’t regret the freeing feeling the experience of being in the wild outdoors with nothing between you and nature. I will never pressure you into taking more off than you’re ready for. If you decide to do nude photos before you shoot, then change your mind in the moment that’s 100% okay. Listen to your heart and honor what you’re feeling.
Clothed or bare, come with your heart naked.
Are you ready for an experience that will change your perspective of yourself for the better? Book your session now and let’s start planning! There’s only a limited number of these shoots so they’ll go fast. Once your date is booked we’ll start planning your outdoor boudoir adventure together with a consultation with me personally (via coffee date, phone call or Skype). We’ll make an inspiration board on Pinterest that matches your personality and what you want out of your experience.
Hello wild women!
Does being in nature make your wild heart sing? Is it where you feel most at peace with yourself and the world? Do you long to find a way to connect to the BIG parts of you that you don’t quite know how to express just yet? Are you ready for a transformation?
I need your help! I’m working on a project to help “rewild” the wild women, and I need 3 brave women to be volunteers for me. I would love to showcase women who are under represented in the media: women of color, gloriously curvy women, gender fluid/transgender women, and if you’re over the age of 35.
*Also huge perk if you’re a writer, or love to write and would be willing to share the experience in your own words so other women can know what it’s like.
My goal is for the photos that we create together to evoke a sense of liberation and empowerment. We will be in the woods, in a bamboo grove, and by my pond. I’ve created a Pinterest board with some wardrobe ideas for the looks I’d like to achieve. I already have tons of fine art nude photos outdoors, so I’m only looking to do the looks from the “Light & Natural” and “Bold” sections**. Let me know which one fits your personality more. Your photo shoot will take place in April at my 10 acres of paradise in Barboursville, Virginia.
Check out some of my outdoor shoots HERE, HERE and HERE.
**it wouldn’t take much arm twisting if you really wanted to do a nude set as well.

Rendezvous in the city of Sin – Meet me in New Orleans
Do you ever
long to leave everything behind? To get away from the drudgery of work and errands and responsibilities in order to indulge in desires you hardly ever dare whisper aloud?
The Crescent City’s wanton soul is electric.
You cannot walk its streets without feeling the titillating touch of its warm air and savory smells. Its heady jazz is intoxicating, and I dare you to walk the city without hiking your dress a little higher, swaying and sweating to a late night beat that seems to emanate from within the cobblestones themselves.
There is magic here.
A current that pulses with a fierce sensuality that cannot be contained within its glorious architecture. In this place of change and rebirth, there is nothing the city does not see or accept. Here, you are whiskey. You are absinthe. You are both fire and smoke, and no amount of clothes will be able to mask your scorching skin.
And why try to hide at all?
Let it go. Expose yourself. Offer New Orleans what you are scarcely ever able to offer the outside world – your truth laid bare. Let the camera tell your story as you unlock the shackles of your inhibition. This is not a place for secrets, but of revelation. You are a goddess, and every piece of art in the city worships you.
Have a lover you want to share your fantasies with? Bring him. Bring her. Explore the light and shadows your bodies can create together. This is your moment, and you alone decide who gets to witness it.
Will you do it?
Will you step away from everything comfortable in order to dare to be who you want to be? In order to let yourself feel as beautiful as this indomitable city ravished by floods? The answer lies within you already. Let the music of the streets fuel you. This is New Orleans. And you are oh so gloriously you.

That’s what she said…
What was your biggest fear prior to your session?
Fear is something I try to acknowledge and allow myself to feel. My fears prior to this photo shoot consisted of not being able to let go and be sexy on camera. I’ve only had one photography look my whole life-look straight at the camera and smile! I also feared that the photos would not be perfection. I’m a life long perfectionist and want everything I do to be just that way. Once the clothes came off and the photo shoot started, my fear of not feeling sexy vanished and I focused completely on Jen’s directions. I had to release the perfectionism and embrace the real me in that moment. Was I perfect? No but I was still stunning.
What was your favorite part?
It is cliche to say but it is empowering. To know that I am capable of oozing sexuality and showcasing excellent physical condition at my age is uplifting and motivating-hopefully not just to me, but to others as well. I also loved the creative aspect of the photo shoot and experimenting with the human form.
How would you describe your experience to your best friend?
I would say you just have to do this for yourself. Every woman and man should…the experience can not really be described. I would say though that the resulting photographs tell a
story and the process allows you to love and accept your body and spirit completely.
Would you do it again?
In a heartbeat. I want to explore outdoor scenic boudoir photography!
For her FIRST BOUDOIR SESSION, Crystal was nervous about being exposed, uncomfortable and imperfect. But when she saw her photos and fell in love with them, she realized how in love with the whole experience she was. So much so, that only five months later she decided to have another boudoir experience, but this time couple’s boudoir with her boyfriend!
I LIVE for couple’s sessions, you guys! I could just live to capture that moment of tension and electricity when couple’s lip’s are mere millimeters apart and the anticipation is building. I love being part of capturing the love and passion between two people, I feel so fortunate be able to do what I do.
What she said…
What was your biggest fear before the session? Did your fear come true, and if not, what happened instead?
I was afraid of being exposed, uncomfortable, and imperfect but that fear did not come true. As soon as I walked in, I felt very comfortable with the decision to have the photo shoot and with being there. I loved having my hair and makeup done and loved how it looked! Jen made me very comfortable and I didn’t feel exposed at all. My fear of being imperfect went away after I saw the pictures and was amazed.
What was your favorite part of your Breathless Boudoir experience and why?
My favorite part of the experience was seeing the pictures. It was such a great experience to see myself in a completely different way!

That’s what she said…
My favorite part of the session was…
“How comfortable Jen made me feel from the first email exchange we had. She was genuinely excited to work with me and I felt like she quickly understood what I wanted from the photo shoot. Jen is so good at directing, which is key to getting a good photo. She told me exactly what to do and how to pose and I didn’t have to think about it or feel awkward. I felt really good and I had fun while she photographed me. And I don’t like to be photographed normally!”
Her biggest fear…
“That I would feel completely nervous and self-conscious and look really stiff and not sexy in the photos.”

*Baton Rouge Boudoir*
“You seriously blew me away and I just left thinking like “Why didn’t I do this sooner?!?!” You are an amazing human being with a keen eye for tapping into a women’s inner sensuality and capturing it on film. More women should do this, for not only their significant others, but just for themselves. And they should definitely experience themselves in this light with you. You are a gem. I will definitely be throwing my friends your way for photo sessions. I can’t tell you enough how great of an experience that was. And you made me feel and look beautiful. Ahh! I can’t wait to stare at the photos again! Other than my wedding day, I’ve never seen myself look so beautiful in photos. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to make sure I receive this in time. If you’re brand wasn’t already stellar in eyes, you’ve definitely set the bar even higher for any company I’ve ever worked with. I will definitely be writing all sorts of reviews for you once the cats out the bag and sending everyone I know to you. You never cease to amaze me with your talent, professionalism, and customer service!”
What was your biggest fear before the session?
Did your fear come true, and if not, what happened instead? My biggest fear was dropping my mask. And believe it or not, my fear did come true but I was liberated for it. When I was in my early 20s, I was more in tune with my sensuality and sexuality. But in today society, being so comfortable in one’s skin gets you labeled as a “slut” or “easy.” So as an adult, I’ve tucked that side of myself away and have become more conservative to become a “lady.” Because this session leaves it all to bare, you really can’t hide behind anything because all there is IS your skin. And it forced me to ask myself the hard question: “Why hadn’t I been comfortable in my own skin earlier?”
What was your favorite part of your Breathless Boudoir experience and why?
Jen! As an artist myself, it was fascinating to see her creative process. She’s extremely talented in giving the most mundane directions like “tilt your head, open your mouth wider” and it translates into the most sensual shot.
